My 8 year old watched and enjoyed it, but I always suggest for a parent to watch first and decide.
There is no sex. swearing, vulgarity etc, but there is the teacher telling a big lie and having to apologize. (And even though my child is smart, I did feel concerned that he would think it 'cool'. Fortunately - he didn't).
Also, in this instance, my son knew most of the music. (Mom still impressed!)
It really is a sweet movie. Let me know if you get to watch it.
