The astirixes are just for emphasis, just the way I'd say it. I grew up in country Qld in the 50's and lived in Qld till the end of the 80s. Country Qld is very different to here. I think the 20 year Bjelke Petersen government, its corruption, brutality and populism, has something to do with it. There are a lot Quenslanders from that time scattered around Australia. They seem to have something in common too.
