That must be why I always seem to have gum stuck to my shoes. My first wife used to preserve and store all of her dissappointments, hurts and resentments of me until one day she decided the cupboard was full and that was the end of it. My current partner is more likely to make me sleep on the couch for while until I've properly paid for my transgression. Then we somehow return to equilibrium. I don't know if its healthy but it seems to work for us.

Oh, and the dog analogy isn't mine. I'm told the "black dog" was Churchill's name for depression. Real dogs are for embracing, black dogs are for putting down.
