Just to keep you grounded about the puppy thing....
Don't get me wrong - I adore my dog. He's a wonderful companion but, on the downside, he's got separation anxiety and can't be left alone in the house without destroying something. He once ripped up wall-to-wall carpeting in my familyroom! But do I regret having him? NO WAY!
So you have to weigh the pros with the cons.
