Don't ever use bleach to clean a cat box.
Somehow I never thought of the ammonia in cat, well, you know, and the box being nasty and all bleach seemed like a good idea. You don't black out from the fumes but white out - everything turns white and it's a weird experience... and dangerous, too.
Just something to keep in mind and once you've experienced it, it seems almost a public service to warn others. (smile)
