Dinah, my dog LOVES a yellow squeaky toy by Hartz Brand. It's indestructible and small. It looks like a cross between a yellow ice-cream cone and a SpongeBob Square Pants -- it has a cone shaped base and a porcupiney top, but it's all made of soft rubber.
My little dog chews and destroys all new toys in MINUTES, but we've had this yellow beast for half a year and he has yet to make a dent. And best of all, it cost only about $4! I found it at Walgreens in the smallish dog section.
I think I might buy a few more and save them up just in case this one eventually breaks.
I also find that my dog loooooves empty plastic water bottles or soda bottles. he loves to chew off the caps. Every time we finish a bottle, I give it to him to chew. He chews it into bits but never eats them, and I don't mind picking up the debris when he's done. It's so enjoyable for him!
