I GOT A JOB OFFER!!!!! :-D :-D :-D :-D
Yup...someone officially offered little ol' moi a job this afternoon.
It's a funny story too. I never actually applied for the job...they found me on the internet!!! Out of the blue a recruiter called me up one afternoon and chatted with me about an opening they had. I guess the hiring person had specifically asked for someone with my degree. The recruiter then found my resume on an internet job site and called me up. I went into an interview 2 weeks later, and 3 weeks after that (today) I got a call with a job offer. And it's a nice job offer too! It's 30% above what I would get working for the government and almost double what I would get working for a non-profit or political entity. I'm happy! It's not often that you get called out of the blue from a very reputable company that found you on the internet, and then get offered the job a few weeks later.
You want to know the even cooler thing???? I've only sent in less then a dozen resumes to places. This was actually my first interview. I was planning to do the big job push in 2 weeks after I get back from Texas. If I decide to take this job, then I don't have to worry about that at all. It's with a very reputable company and my job would be in an emerging field that they are planning to expand in (privacy). I'd be getting in on the ground floor.
Now I just have to decide if I'm going to except the offer. I'm going to be talking to the recruiter in more detail later next week.
I'm an excited person right now. :-D
