I live an hour north of Portland. It's a great city. We often go down there for shopping, sight seeing, etc..

I love to walk around downtown. They have some neat shops.
Another neat place to visit is the Pacific Science Center.
I don't know much abotu their mental health options but I imagine it would reputable.
Good luck on your move- you'll get used to all the rain in the winter, don't worry. LOL
