hypomanic roommate

Posted by deirdrehbrt on July 13, 2005, at 19:43:21

I love my roommate... we get along very well and we compliment each other in many ways. She is also a good mirror into my moods. I never knew what it was like to love someone who is bipolar but I'm learning now.
About every five minutes there is a new project that has to be started; some of which are very expensive. Most little projects become big ones as she comes to see more possibilities for her ideas. Alot of times it's fun to see her with extra energy. Yesterday we were driving by a local spa and she saw a sign.
We get home and I hear her book a slot for two people to have eyelashes tinted. So we're at the spa today and as my eyelashes are being tinted she says "can we do an eyebrow wax?" So.... after the eyebrow wax it's how 'bout eyebrow tinting? Things just seem to grow. When we got home she pulls out a hair coloring kit that I had bought but not yet used. Well.... for those that know me, I have a new look. Sometimes adventure is good. I can understand though why my ex had such a hard time living with me. When moods and plans and goals can change from day to day, or minute to minute it can be just a bit hard to handle. I guess that knowing how my moods change makes it easier to handle in someone else.
Last week she gave me an amazing surprise. First she showed me a new ring on her finger. She and her boyfriend are getting married. She asked me to be matron of honor. I was floored. I asked when the wedding would be and she said in about a year and a half. This week she told me that they decided to move it up to this October 29. I have just a bit less time to get ready. I want to lose at least 30 pounds by then. It's going to take some serious work to get there. BTW.... any advice? ... I've never planned a shower before.
