I've wondered about that too...
I think.. It is to avoid putting ones foot in ones mouth.
The less said the more what is said is taken seriously.
I think it is supposed to help prevent transference but I don't see how it isn't supposed to facilitate projection instead.But then I'm talking out of my *ss.
