ana - seriously....sorry you have to go through this. But I'm assuming it's the best option. Things will be better once all healed up? Well, duh, of course they'll be better! (I'm such a dork sometimes) I just meant, sorry other treatments obviously haven't helped enough. No one generally wants *any* kind of surgery :-(
Are you getting lame "pain in the ____" remarks from people? Endless possibilities for juvenile humor, I suppose. Uhhh, from people who can't control their tendency to BE juvenile - like moi! (hangs head)
Maybe humor is the best way to cope...? It wouldbe for me, I think. Let us know how you are doing.....
