You sound like a very strong person to not alter your decisions based on what other people want. Your boyfriend's friend sounds like he is very insecure and threatened by the fact that you don't smoke. The problem is him, not you.
Does your boyfriend stick up for you? If he doesn't, is he aware of how much this bothers you? Maybe you should try, even for just a week, not hanging out with those guys, but either hanging out by yourself (you could chill at a bookstore or bum around a mall, or just watch TV) or with any friends/family you do have in your area. It's possible you will feel better in general without that too-frequent negative vibe you've been getting.
Or have you stood up to the friend? He probably thinks he is more enlightened than you, but his actions clearly show that this is not so. You should tell him to stop harrassing you.
Anyway, this is your life and you never HAVE to take something like that. Although, I can understand that sometimes it seems that alternative to a bad thing is even worse; but it rarely actually is. It is totally your decision.
