Was just thinking out loud in my post above...
I don't know if I could do the evil thing...
Not even in a video-game.
I even feel a bit bad about the stealing when nobody is looking.
But I need money!
I need armour!
And weapons!
And potions!
In order to help the poor people who need me, of course ;-)
Kind of a Robyn Hood the ends justify the means thing to do...I don't know.
I do think there are genuine moral issues there...
The example that came up in the seminar was (I think...) Need for Speed III (PlayStation 2). The notion is that when you are low on health you can go to where this pro is walking beside your car. Stop the car and she hops in. Drive off to somewhere secluded and stop the car. After a while the car starts suggestively moving (well, jumping up and down really). Slowly to start with and then faster and then it stops. While all that is going on your money goes down and your health goes up. Then she jumps out of the car.
So that is a way of converting money to health.
But here is the interesting bit.She jumps out of the car. You can follow her and bash her up good with the bat. While you are bashing her your money goes back up.
It is a way of getting health for free.
And of course when you discover this little trick there is glee!!! Ha ha!!!
But isn't there something a little bit morally unacceptable about all that???
Hmm.
