Death is not just ending, it is also beginnings.
You could try "being" the man on the roof, in the first person, talk about what you are doing and how you are feeling about it. Not "he" but "I".
Death scared me in dreams until I analysed enough of them (my own I mean) to understand that it means so many different things.
What do you think?
