I have been finding it VERY therapeutic for my depression and anxiety.
There was a point in my life when I felt my absolute worst and I would try to sing a song or listen to lyrics of some of my favorite songs and end up bawling my eyes out. What a strange symptom of dpression/anxiety I think that was!!! It was as if my brain could not process the music and it's message in a normal way or something.
Anyway, I am getting so much "joy" from singing my heart out these days and my kids absolutely love it. I'm not a big country fan, but I play Faith Hill's "Breathe" CD every day and it makes me so happy even though some of the songs are sad songs.
I'm thinking of getting involved with the local theatre group here when my kids are all a little older. I love a good musical!!!
