Then because I get too nervous thinking the Red Sox are going to blow it again, I followed the box score while on the computer, mindlessly (and nervously) playing spider solitaire. I did join my husband for the last inning.

But for the most part, New England really is Red Sox Nation and the comeback has been a huge unifying topic of conversation among strangers over the last week.

Mair,I'm glad you got to see both. I woke up this morning and the first thing I heard from my radio alarm clock was that the Sox won - and I thought of you and hoped you didn't follow my advice! (Fortunately I posted it way to late for it to have mada a difference.)
I lived in Boston for many years and so I'm really glad they won. However, I did grow up in New York ... but still I always like the underdog.
P.S. When are Josh and Donna finally going to realize how they feel about each other? Did you catch the line jealous Josh gave when Donna asked "Isn't he great?" referring to her photographer boyfriend? It was kind of a strange storyline though - having Bartlet broker peace in the Middle East. But then it is only entertainment.
