My brother is six years younger. I think he'd die before he put on a leather jacket. When he dresses "casually," he's usually wearing Docksiders and beige Dockers (I think it's the only color he owns) and a button-down dress shirt (usually light blue) minus the tie and open at the neck. In other words, he dresses just like my 64-year-old dad.
I wouldn't recommend Harley-Davidson motorcycle boots for mountain-climbing, though. They're really designed to serve as the third and fourth "tires" of a motorcycle as needed for balance or in stop-and-go traffic. They're very comfortable and durable, but pretty heavy. And they ain't cheap, but they are very well made. They're certainly less expensive than your mega-boot, though.
We do have hawks all over the city. There are aeries hidden among the cornices and gargoyles of a lot of the older buildings. I've mostly only seen the hawks when they ride the thermals in the open space over Central Park. I've never seen one swoop from a building perch, and certainly never witnessed one take a pigeon, although I've read it happens all the time. New York City pigeons just couldn't be any fatter, dumber, or slower. I've actually seen one run over by a taxi because it got a little too cocky about getting out of the cab's way. Oh, by the way, was that your first PBC the other day? I seem to rack up one about every three weeks. I'm about due. Ta. ;) Atticus
