>Ah, well, I'll give your thread a little boost. Don't know if it'll help. I don't know if low-cal foods speed up your metabolism. But here are some of the healthy (if not low cal) foods that have given me a weird reputation.
Air popped popcorn sprinkled with oregano and marjoram. Or sprinkled with brewer's yeast.
Peanut butter and cucumber sandwiches on 100% whole grain bread. It's good. Really.
Raw sugar snap peas. They're tastier than raw green beans and have that satisfying crunch.
Take any cookie or muffin recipe, substitue vegetable oil for the butter. Or substitute apple sauce for some of the oil. Cut out half of the sugar. Swap half of the flour for whole wheat and maybe add a little soy flour. It won't really be dessert anymore, but it'll be virtuous and just sweet enough to make it more fun than ordinary bread.
A little slab of absolutely fresh tofu with a dash of soy sauce or worschester sauce.
Gotta dress up those rice cakes. Do you have access to an Indian grocery store? How about some tamarind sauce or coriander chutney?
