I have psychotic symptoms.... seeing, hearing, feeling, and smelling things that are not real. Sometimes I need to ask someone else whether what I'm seeing, etc. is real or not.
One day that will live on in my mind, like 9-11, the shuttle disasters, etc. is the day when my psychiatrist said "...and for the psychotic symptoms....". I was not expecting "The P-word", and it hit really hard. I know where I was when I first heard it, and what I was doing. I don't wish that experience on anyone, except for perhaps unthinking, unfeeling family who treat me like I'm doing something wrong by being sick.
