I don't know about chiffon cake (haven't even heard of it) but in my experience, sponge cake should stay fresh for 3 to 5 days if stored in a very airtight container. Refridgeration will let the cake last longer, but it loses some of that "just baked" freshness. Popping it into the oven for a short bit may help. But doing this often will dry the cake right out. If you choose to refridgerate, do so in a very airtight container aswell.
