She comes right up to my mouth and practically sticks her face in it. If I have traces of toothpaste or peppermint oil on my hands, she licks it like crazy. I've figured it out: if you smell fresh catnip, it smells just like mint leaves. She also likes the smell and taste of fresh basil and oregeno. I always have it on my fingers after I make a salad, and she licks them like crazy too! I love cats-they're so wierd!

Glad to know mine isn't the only loony toon out there! She'll try to lick my lips if I've just eaten something minty or just brushed my teeth. She's a riot. I never used to be a cat person. I got my two because I couldn't get a dog and I sort of grudgingly accepted that it was this or nothing. I never expected to love these little creatures so much. I wouldn't trade them for any dog.

I don't see the connection with catnip and toothpaste though. Catnip doesn't smell like mint to me but my sense of smell isn't the greatest. It does smell like oregano to me though and both of my cats love that as well.
