Jai,
Guess what: I just read a Reuters wire service news article that says an archeologist from Norway believes that "Atlantis" was actually Ireland. According to this scientist, Ireland shares many of the specific geographic features described by Plato when he wrote about Atlantis. Also, many of the sites marked by monoliths of the Stonehenge variety in Eire are located where Plato places Atlantean temples. Apparently, around 3,000 B.C., a largish island just off the northern coast of Ireland was demolished in a vicious North Sea storm and the populace of about 2,000 wiped out. Stories about this catastrophe appear to have passed into ancient Irish folklore, then were gradually embellished as they made their way east along the Mediterranean. Besides sharing some details geographically, Ireland is the exact same size as the Atlantis first described by Plato and is in the right place. If this Norwegian isn't as crazy as I am, I guess that makes you and I fellow Atlanteans. That would certainly go a long way to explaining the weirdness in my family. Ta, Jai of Atlantis :) Atticus of Atlantis
