My unsolicitated opinion:
Fires has a "rep" from prior postings, so when he (making an assumption here) posted again, this got everyone in battle stance. This is because the previous battle was not properly resolved by administration, IMHO.
So, the users decided to handle it themselves this time. However, I don't think that Fires post was particularly incendiary. I think what happened was an outpouring of residual anger from the previous events.
I saw more borderline lack of civility coming from the gang, than I did from Fires. Sorry friends....I do understand why. I just felt like, well, what if, IF, IF, Fires wanted one more shot at participating on Psychology, or Social? I was never all that popular in school, and always stood on the outside looking in. It never felt good. I can't imagine it would improve Fires attitude much.
What I also find interesting, is that I see a bit more freedom of expression here. I wonder if Bob has noticed how many Babble posters are now also posting on another site? So, where is the power in the ominous "Block" now? So what if you are blocked? Just go to the other site and post! How liberating for the end users, no? How disempowering for Bob? Bob has lost his light saber. How sad.
