Extracurricular activities

Posted by Penny on April 22, 2004, at 14:12:18

Well, folks, I am *finally* feeling up to trying to get out a bit more and do something. I was looking around for different local groups that involve things I enjoy - children, animals, aquariums, music, books - and I discovered a community chorus right here in my town! It's pretty large (looks like about 75 people or so) and doesn't require an audition. It's been so long since I sang in a formal chorus setting (since college) that I don't really feel comfortable with auditioning, so that's good. The fee is reasonable - pays your 'dues' and for your t-shirt and then music is about $15. They have a summer, winter and spring season - you join anew each time. Practice is one night a week, and it's a night I can do, so I'm going to join! I'm quite excited about it!!! A woman in my department at work sang with them a few summers ago (they've been around nearly 25 years) and said it was a lot of fun and pretty low-key.

My therapist will be so proud. ;-)
