Hmmm. So we should discuss the finer points of hill rolling...
I have not tried the hands-in-the-pocket approach, and maybe I will cross it off my list before trying it!
I prefer to stretch my arms straight above my head when rolling. I find that with my arms at my sides that I am too oblong to roll smoothly.
We also need to discuss eyes. I take my glasses off when rolling (this seems fairly obvious to me). It is fun to roll with the eyes closed, and that does keep dirt and other things out of the eyes while rolling. But I have found it helpful to study the hill before rolling it, so that I have a sense of when the bottom is nearing. I have also found that there are times when I haven't rolled down straight, but curved so that I ended up rolling *across* the hill (not very satisfactory...). When I find that I think I am near the bottom, or I am totally confused and have NO idea where I am, I do find it helpful to open the eyes long enough to figure out where I am.
I have also found it helpful to braid my hair before rolling...
