It's wonderful that you are trying not to SI. I know that the urges can be incredibly compelling, so if you *do* SI, don't beat yourself up about it. Just keep trying not to.

I'm with Dinah on trying to figure out what is driving the urge. Can you look at the time period when you first started wanting to SI again? It sounds like you did it in the past, but stopped, and now have started again. This COULD be due to meds (and it sounds like you are working on that angle), but it also could be due to stuff going on in your life. Did anything in particular happen around that time? Changes, fights, insights?

You might also think back to your previous SI period. Were you able to figure out what was driving the SI then? Could that be the case now?

There are different reasons to SI (to feel "real", to cover up emotional pain, to communicate pain, to have some control, and many others). If you can determine what your particular reason is, it might help you figure out what issue is driving this.

Journalling often helps me when I'm trying to figure things like this out. I try to just write what I'm thinking (almost like free association) and keep writing. Eventually I get to something that upsets me, and that is usually what I need to deal with.

Be nice to yourself (I like Ice cream, myself - and Tabitha is having an all day long online birthday party with (BYO) banana splits today!). Be patient with yourself.
