I dunno jay ... I think it bothers everybody equally. I'm not in my 30s (a little young yet), but I get a lot of social pressure to just meet some nice guy and settle down. (Mostly from my dad and the lady in the office with the active 3 year old -- maybe they're cynically trying to lure me into a parenthood trap -- run!!!!)
Same old concepts for everybody - i'm not good enough - i'm not pretty enough - i don't make enough money - i'm not charming enough - i'm not thin enough, etc
But then again i'm not really looking. If somebody grand fell out of the sky and landed in my lap that would be great. Otherwise, forget it! I'm a little young to be curmudgeonly, but I'm a curmudgeon and I have my habits and beliefs and I'm starting to set in my ways. I don't like many people that I meet, I tend to tolerate them. (Liking comes later I guess)
Anyway, I live on the Wet Coast of Canada in Beautiful British Columbia. Home of the heroin addicts and XTREME! sports heroes and rednecks and gay wedding planners and other assorted miscellany. Basically the fruits, nuts, and flakes of Canada. I'm more of a nut :)
