I loved it too. What a sweet and real relationship between the two characters.
Another good depiction of alienation in Tokyo is _Enlightenment Guaranteed_. It's about two Germans who end up lost and homeless in Tokyo on their way to a Buddhist retreat. Your video rental place might have it. Not as warm and wonderful as Lost in Translation but has really good visuals of Tokyo.
