> I have two- male and female (I would LOVE babies!) The girl is "Yella" and the boy is "Blue" I know I know, not very original, but I was trying to have names that they could say easily. Blue is starting to get the hang of the wolf whistle- it's so cute. Any tips on teaching them to talk?
> REPETITION IS IMPORTANT. I JUST BASICALLY
TALKED TO SKY-BUTT WHENEVER I WALKED BY HIS CAGE OR WHEN I WOULD TAKE HIM OUT AND HAVE HIM ON MY FINGER. BOY BIRDS GENERALLY ARE KNOWN MORE FOR TALKING THAN GIRLS BUT BOTH ARE ABLE. SKY JUST PICKED STUFF UP FROM AN EARLY AGE ON HIS OWN.

> I'm so excited I have a bird-lover friend now!! I'll take pictures tonight and post them so you can see :)I THINK SKY'S PIC IN MY YAHOO PROFILE BUT I WILL CHECK. WE COULD AT SOME POINT EXCHANGE EMAIL ADDY'S.

> My cats are still amazed by the birds. I have the cage above my desk. My little girl kitty (Trot) lays spread eagle on the desk chair and stares up at them. Wain, my big fat black cat (boy), meows at them, like he's either trying to communicate with them or he's saying "What the heck are you doing here??" HOW OLD ARE YOUR BIRDS? CATS?

> I hope my cats learn. IT WILL ALWAYS BE POTENTIAL DANGER NO MATTER HOW "SAFE" IT SEEMS. I HAVE TO BE ON GUARD EVEN NOW....CATS WILL ALWAYS BE CATS. I haven't let the birds fly free yet- any tips on making one room bird safe?I HAVE A REALLY GOOD BOOK AT HOME I'LL GIVE YOU THE NAME OF IT TONIGHT. I WOULD GIVE THEM A BIGGER ROOM. CAN YOU PUT KITTIES IN THE KITCHEN OR BEDROOM FOR AWHILE SO THEY CAN MAYBE FLY IN THE LIVING ROOM?
My plan is to get them use to maybe the bathroom- where I can shut the door and keep the cats out- and the bathroom is nice abnd warm....IN MY OLD BATHROOM SKY USED TO LIKE TO GET IN THE SHOWER WITH ME AND DRINK WATER FROM MY MOUTH. OCCASIONALLY I WOULD TURN THE WATER STREAM LOW AND HE WOULD TAKE A BATH IN MY HANDS...

> > I have so much fun with your name I hope you don't mind....I have a beautiful boy parakeet named Skyler and he is an absolute joy! He talks and has quite an extensive vocabulary. He was hand fed and I have had him since he was 5 weeks old. He is now little over 2 years old! He says things like: "Mommy kiss the bird" "Don't bite your mommy's nose" "Don't eat the bird" "What are you doing?" "Mommy birdy boy" "Love you" "Doody doody doody" "You smell like a bird" or sometimes "you smell like your mommy's bird" He also does the wolf whistle and the come here whistle. I also have 2 cats and they behave themselves when I have him out..I think they are confused because to them "It looks like a bird, flies like a bird, smells like a bird..but damn it talks! Must not be a bird...."
