Hey jyl....

I hear you on feeling pretty 'low' after these programs. It has really bugged me, and now I may not even take part in it. For any of us, semi-intelligent folks, ya it does sound a bit like 'school'. (Like Grade school!) Mind you, I am still keeping the idea of a less formal group meeting a few times a month, but still have to see. Do you mind if I ask...are you taking your program through the Mood Disorders Clinics of Ontario? The ones at St. Joseph/McMaster in Hamilton are looking after my current case.

About beta-blockers....hmmm..I am not 100 percent sure about them, but they do seem to have some success, I think mainly depending on the name of the medication. If it's for bad anxiety/social phobia, there are a number of other 'investigational' drugs to try. One of my top docs has suggested Neurontin in particular for people who have any attraction to alcohol. I may be giving the med a shot also, again. My Prozac/Zyprexa combo seems to be causing more problems (intense anxiety!) than help. My doc suggested increasing my clonazepam, then trying adding Neurontin and juggling around the meds from there.

So..let me know..as I think for many of us, getting our meds to be as effective as possible is best.

Take good care...ok?

Sincerely,
Jay
