Boy, it sure would have been nice of your roommate to ask you about this before just cancelling it! The good news is.. that woman will be out of your life soon. Hang onto that thought.
I can understand your upset over missing your favorite shows. Good shows can be the high point of my week. Can you get the cable extended til your move by offering to pay for that last week? If not, do you have friends or neighbors who might let you watch at their house?
Here's another tip.. do you ever read the Television Without Pity website? It has super-detailed (and often hilarious) recaps of lots of shows. That's how I keep up with Sex and the City til it comes out on DVD (I don't have cable at all). If you google on 'twop' it comes right up.
