'Virtual' Mental Health/Illness Real-Life StoriesHey folks:
I have started on a project of putting people's stories, kinda like a 'digital book', on the 'net. (Dr. Bob...I am sorry to post to more than one board, but thought it would help reach more folks.) This doesn't involve money, research, or anything like that, but just an ongoing collection of your mental health/illness stories. There is something really helpful in reading in detail what others are going through, and how you can relate and not feel so alone. No last names are required, and you have your choice of using a pseudonym or your own name if you wish. Again, it's going to be a 'story' type site (very simple...in the style of the "blogs" that are now popular.) Basically, I am looking for anywhere between 1 and 2 page submissions, as well as how either or both medication and/or therapy has either helped you, and if in some cases hasn't helped you. (I'd like to keep it balanced and 'real', with no hidden political agenda or anything like that.) If interested, please either send me a note at: hopeflguy@yahoo.com You can either submit your story via a plain email message, or do it up on Word or something like that, and send it as an attachment. I intend to do little to no editing, so keep that also in mind. Please indicate, where possible, a general summary of your diagnosis and the *generic* name for medications. I hope that eventually Doc Bob might want to include this site in his links. It's not going to be a 'bulletin-board' like this site or any others, just a collection of stories.
Thanks,
Jay
