There are LOTS of places to live - apartments, duplexes, whatnot - b/c this is a college town, but everything thing is so darn expensive! The biggest complaint in this area is that *most* of the people who work for the university can't afford to live in our county. How crazy is that???
They apparently have just built an apartment complex in Chapel Hill specifically for employees who make under a certain amount, and I'm just under that amount, but I haven't even bothered calling b/c of my dogs. Don't know that they would have any spaces available anyway.
The biggest reasons I would want to stay in my aparement complex is convenience (not having to move very far), safety, and the huge pet deposit I paid that I can't get back. I don't want to have to pay another deposit for my dogs. Just don't have the money for that!!!
Hoping I find something affordable and safe. That's the challenge.
