I did! Honest!

I love Burlington...reminds me of a
little Seattle. but even it is getting over
developed.

My sister lives in Burlington. She loves it.

almost wwent to UNC Chapel Hill.

Oh yeah, all those places are very familiar to me. I had an
ex boyfriend who's parents lived in Wilmington, so we used to
go there all the time to visit them and hang at the beach. It's
about 3 hours away from here (Durham). Chapel Hill is 30 minutes away
from me, so of course I know all about UNC. My ex boyfriend went there
for college and I lived in Chapel Hill for a few years.

true but i guess we are inclined to think that
after so many years of depression and stagnation.

Maybe that's the upside of depression...you really appreciate
the good times and savor them like fine wine....I know I do anyway.

> How long you been seeing each other?

Well I'm a little embarrassed to say since we haven't been
going out nearly long enough to seriously consider cohabitation...but
it's weird, we've been so damn domestic right from the start. Our favorite
things to do revolve around domestic days at home, doing chores! Just
the other day, a particularly blissful day, I was mowing his yard (he has
a huge yard, and a riding lawnmower...it takes me about two hours to mow
it!)...but I love it...I'm out there feeling all country girl and Nascar at
the same time and mowing is so meditative...and he's inside refinishing this
huge wardrobe thing. We put in a garden at his place. We're just real domestic.
I've known him (though not well) through mutual friends for a long time. We were
talking/flirting at a party one time and he was talking about how he needed a roomate.
I said "I'll be your roomate, I've kind of been thinking I don't like living alone".
So our first intial flirting conversations had to do with being roomates. Then we
starting dating and dropped the subject. Then it tentatively came up again.
But to answer your question, we've only been going out..um...4 months.

Yes, funky colors will be in the basement.
it's a finished basement where the tv and
stereo and all of my husband's big boy toys
are. I'm thinking orange...blues...I like firey
stuff.

Man, I've never met anyone else who fantasizes about painting
their walls orange. I've been wanting to do that for a long time, but
for one thing, I rent, for another, I'm a little scared Ill hate it.
But I _love_ orange. I like the fiery stuff too. I used to live in this
really cheap low rent place where the landlord never came around and didn't
care what you did. My living room was bright yellow (semi gloss!) it was almost
the color of orange sherbert...the stairwell was salsa red...the bathroom
electric blue...my room was dark slate blue...another room was emerald green.
That place was funky. And I have a red couch. I love my red couch.
My two next purchases I would like: a really good name brand mattress, preferrably
a pillowtop and a chair and a half with an ottoman...

> But the furniture is kind of between khaki
and olive so I'm still ruminating.

Khaki and olive would go great with orange, I think...
>

> Yeah actually I did that last month. Seriously.
It was a terrible terrible month.
I wish I'd had soft smooth expensive high
thread count sheets...

Yeah...that's not the fun way to be in bed...when you're feeling
like shit...been there, baby.

> Maybe I'll describe some rooms to you and get
some decorating advice. I have some good
ideas but I always need reassurance.

Yeah, maybe you could take digital pictures and then tell
me the paint colors you're thinking of on behr.com...
I'd love to help you decide.

> It's a big country kitchen and everything
needs re-doing. I wanted wood floors but
i don't think it's practical so we're doing
laminate flooring which looks like ceramic tile...
we want Tuscan colors in the kitchen...deep yellows
, blues, greens...

Sounds wonderful...
