Giget, I think people try to help in the best way they can. And because of the diversity of people here (and I think that diversity is a blessing), sometimes it doesn't work out the way they intended.
I know I've hurt people here when it was the farthest thing from my mind to do so. It's easy enough to do, especially in a forum that relies on the written word, with no visual cues, and that doesn't allow for real time evaluation of the impact of your words. In a face to face conversation you can generally see when something has gone wrong, when something you have said has been taken the wrong way, or when you've inadvertantly stepped over a boundary. Here it's very hard to do that.
I think it's just a limitation of this medium.
