I work for the US Postal Service, which is a competitor of UPS. I've never heard of ANY education reimbursements from UPS, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. As far as your physical shape: they, like the USPS,will require that you be in reasonable condition, but that mostly entails being physically able to lift up to a certain amount of weight. For the USPS,it is up to 70 pounds. That doesn't mean that you would be lugging 70 pound packages around all day, but you MAY have to handle one that heavy. As long as you pass their medical tests, they cannot discriminate against you because you are a little heavy. Will you get "shaped up"? That depends on exactly WHAT they would be hiring you to do, but most of my employees who carry mail ARE in good shape because they have to move quickly (insert your favorite post office joke here). My opinion: if it's a job you WANT and can physically DO, go for it!
