Yes, they really are overwhelming, and I have to overcome tremendous resistance to force myself to go. Some are so big, they could have their own zip code. I go to Sam's about four or five times a year, and I stock up on enough to last me a few months. Although they do have all kinds of food there, including perishables, usually I just stock up on paper goods, pet food, laundry detergent, soap, toothpaste, shampoo, etc. Going there does take a lot of energy, but once I go and get it over with, it feels so good to know I have all those things on hand and I don't have to think about them again for another three or four months. Also, when I go to the regular grocery store and see how much more expensive the items are, I'm pleased to know that I've saved significant sums of money at the warehouse.
