At the risk of sounding crass: Are you a female that can make an observation of the "timing" of these episodes and their relationship (if any) to your menstrual cycle. There are many on-going studies of a syndrome that is related to menstruation other then the typical male/ female responses of “being “on the ***” or “that time of the month,” respectively and respectfully.
Just a guess but if so, some docs use regular ssri's to treat this period (no pun intended…but even I laughed after I typed and thought of Dr Bob; errr I mean Freud) if warranted and thanks to the folks at Pfizer, coincidently, right after Prozac lost became available as a generic preparation, they "invented" the once- a week Prozac, which my pdoc says is rather useless as most, esp. during an episode of depression will inevitably forget to take it on time and a medication called Sarafin or something that sounds like that, which doc said "Prozac by any other name..." I know the name of the med and probably the “disorder” this could be found at web.md or a similar site.
gl and peace,
