Then it would still not be too late. Unless you were also dead.
Things can change, albeit slowly. I spent at least 5 years struggling through every day with nothing to live for. All I felt I had to look forward to was my eventual inevitable death of natural causes. That was my only comforting thought: "Some day I'll die anyway, and it won't be more than 50 or 60 years away. That's not so long. I can wait."
Now, unbelievably, I am glad that I stuck it out. Life has got much better.
I really hope you have some temporary relief from the bad place you are in right now. Hang in there.
