white out--just musings

Posted by beardedlady on February 16, 2003, at 15:21:06

Well, it's been snowing since 3:00 a.m., and we have about 20" already. The total, when it stops tomorrow afternoon, could be up to 32". Or more. We're getting between one and three inches every hour.

Next to my desk is a bare dogwood tree filled with robins. Big, fat, rust-bellied birds are covering this tree--forty of them, at least. They're eating the red berries off the holly tree by my side porch. They've been here for hours and are absolutely beautiful.

Someone on the news was reading an e-mail from a viewer who was talking about the robins eating berries by his window. I've never seen anything like it in my life.

It's a day to be in. I've had three tablespoons of Jif, some hot cocoa, a tub of cool whip, a bologna and cheese sandwich, chips and salsa, a chocolate chip cookie dough candy bar, four mini oreo cookies, and three--okay, four--kisses. We walked to the grocery store a while ago to get some ice cream for this evening, and it's a good thing, 'cause I'm starving!

Now I'm going to do my workout video--the lame "Walking Away the Pounds." It's sooooo boring, but I've been doing it almost every day for three weeks. (Some days I substitute sleigh riding because that is some serious exercise there! We have the steepest hills!)

Wish I had some cross country skis, but this winter is the first time I'd have been able to use them since about '99; it snows so infrequently.

Well, I'm toast, and my peanut butter butt is begging me to get off it.
