I must be strange and it might sound a bit like elevator music (because it is the synthesized midi version ) - but I really like this old tune!
For anyone interested in music therapy, consider the melody's form: A-B-A-B-C-A-B-C-A-B.
After a snazzy little piano intro with energizing drum beat (which DEMAND to stir you out of your apathetic mood), section A begins with a series of musical sequences that answer each other, moving up in pitch each time. This prepares you for a lift in mood...End sequence comes down nicely to bring some resolution through. Section B launches straight into the mood lift with notes WITHIN each sequence moving up (1-3-5, 1-3-5, 1-3-5-8) before being resolved by a more slightly calming sequence from section A (5-4-3-4-3-2-1).
Part C adds a different aspect of the good mood, with slightly different drum beat and accompaniament..Sequences, still moving upwards, offer a variation which builds on the (in my case) already good mood.I'll bet that there are a few more people that jig in their chairs here. (Wink.)
