Maybe I'm the exception but, when in hell, I kept copious notes via a calendar. It did two things for me. First, for me, depression almost required me to see the world as black and black forever, the notes helped me to see the ups and downs. Second, as I was making the rounds in search of competent medical help, the notes were as close as I could come to providing objective information to the latest doc as to what had failed (or briefly succeeded) in the past, as well as a tracking of the symptoms. I have to admit that I was obsessive about it. I was unable to work, function in society and my only job was to get well because without recovery, I would not live. I'd lost everything else and my only hope was recovery. I'm not much of a techno-person so mine was manual, but my husband has diabetes (and he's an android) and uses one of these devices.
