80s music not as bad as 70s

I guess it depends on how often and how long you're exposed to a certain kind of music. Even if it was excellent music to begin with, the gag reflex can set in after the 2,500,303rd time you've heard a particular song. The radio stations here in St. Louis just haven't picked up on that concept, so consequently, hearing "When the lights...go down...on the city..." has the effect of Chinese water torture on me. I will hurt myself getting to the radio fast enough to turn that off.
In all fairness, last night I watched a tribute to Terry O'Reilly before the Bruins game, and I started to frown a little when they started showing old clips of Terry in brutal hockey fights
to the music of the Who's "Teenage Wasteland". I didn't see the relevance, and I was having a knee-jerk reaction to 70s music. Then it clicked- the first 2 lines are, "Out here in the fields, I fight for my meals". Also, I had made a common mistake - the title is not "Teenage Wasteland", but Baba O'Reilly. It was a macho and loving and
well-thought-out tribute, very well-done.

If this has anything to do with your original post, apparently it was an accident.
;-) Gracie
