Thanks Mal and madison. I've decided to drop one class, which hadn't really shaped up to be what I wanted, and try to focus on getting a job and catching up in the other (much harder but more interesting) class.

fyi, I have a BA, but the degree (German literature) isn't even close to what I want to do, and my GPA sucked. I'm taking upper-level undergrad classes now to boost my GPA and try to narrow down what I want to do in grad school.

Anyway, thanks again for support. I'm gonna try to take it one semester at a time.
