I have an 84-year-old friend who dropped out of school in the 9th grade and, after retiring from carpentry, taught himself to use computers, built telescopes and spectrographs, etc. His memory is completely shot and his hands shake like the dickens, but he has developed skills & tools to get around these handicaps.

You're stronger than I am Ted. I have no strength in me at all. I can't stand up to the panic no matter what coping skills I'm given. I take klonopin to get through normal everyday activities but the amount that I would have to take to just walk onto a university campus would likely put me to sleep therefore rendering the whole learning experience null and void.
I am impressed by your 84 year old friend. Wow. Again though, he has more strength than I will ever have.
I'm not brave Ted or I would have killed myself by now.
thanks though.
