I've been with my boyfriend for about a year and half after kind of knowing each other for years. This past weekend his mother made a comment to me at his family birthday party dinner about how her daughter (who was also there) took off 20 lbs and I gained the weight she took off. Then when my boyfriend brought his dessert plate over to the table and told me to eat his leftover icecream cake since that was the only dessert there I was interested in and the small icecream cake was gone, HIS mother said "oh no" and pulled it away from me and then said "Well, someone has to help her" THEN, his mother told my best friend who is her real daughter in law that my boyfriend shouldn't let me eat and that she was going to have to have a talk with him. Because of depression and changes in eating habits through medications I have gone from a size 5/6 to a 9/10. I am absolutedly disgusted right now. My best friend doesn't want me to relate what the mother said specifically to her because she doesn't want to start a family argument. I am not a part of that family yet, nor do I even want to be at this point. All I said at the time was "Thanks" in an unfriendly tone but after hearing what she said to my friend I am beyond pissed. Who needs to be concerned about all the craziness in the world when the real a**holes are all in the family. Any advice?
