To those who knew them well

Two people I was acquainted with committed suicide this week, Sar and my friend's daughter, age 25. Also this week, another man who I greatly admired, suddenly and unexpectedly, died during surgery. Aside from the grief, I have a strange, unsettling feeling that death can happen at any time. I know this to be true: We never know when a disaster will come or when our friends will die, but this is so much loss all at once. And my grief is nothing compared to those who knew them well.
