Feeling bad doesn't mean you're not getting better

ELA,

Fi is right, getting better isn't instantaneous. You're on your way and healing - don't worry. Be patient with yourself. Know that you've been actively involved in geting yourself healthier and allow yourself to feel shitty.

One of the biggest lessons for me was figuring out that just because I'm now on ADs or I "know" what causes my depression or because I've been through 5 years of therapy, it doesn't mean the struggling is over. You still will feel bad. You may still at times want to die. But now you know that you can survive it. Obviously your will to live is stronger than the one to die. Just sit tight, knowing it will pass, because it always does. Surround yourself with your support system. And enjoy the times you feel fantastic, because they, too, will pass. You'll go through many ups and downs. Be in the moment and stay with whatever "state" you're in. There's a peace that comes with that. Wait until you feel better to make any huge choices about what to do next.

Anyway, enough of Dr. Sarah. I've been following your posts and it sounds like you're making progress even if you think you aren't.

Good luck,
Sarah
