Dear Nikki,

some times a cry in the dark has to be sounded many times before someone else can find where it is coming from. I support Milas comments and share with you, that at my most difficult times, I try to remember, not to give up. That it is hard.

Shop around in different churches of different denominations to find a minister that you like and the church community that feels supportive and like a family to you. Ministers and nuns are trained in counselling and will offer it for free of course. When they counsel, they do not necessarily rely on the word of God, if that is what might scare you. I met outstanding ministers on my way to recovery, from very different religious paths: anglicans, catholics, jesuits, pentecostals, jews, etc. They have outstanding people skills and deep understanding and compassion for a human fate in this world. Many churches organize potluck dinners, visiting the sick, and they might offer you some help with access other resourses you might need to, including payments for treatment.
