Beatrix Potter story images, they are the best little stories for kids. The animals aren't totally cute and happy, they have emotions and sadnesses, and are sometimes even a little twisted...
I don't ever remember having them read to me as a child, but I read them a lot to my daughter, who is now 9. Every once in a while, we get the books out and read our favorites, esp. "Two Bad Mice," the one where the two mice rip through a doll's house while the little girl is out of the nursery (how quaint!), and steal and pilfer all sorts of good things. They try to eat the fake food in the doll's house, but find they can't get a knife through the ham, etc., so they just take it and smash it and throw it around... My daughter hooted at that one *each* time we read it, no matter how many times or how recently we'd read it.
Just some mousey thoughts on a cool Sunday evening, but I'm warm 'cause kitty's in my lap sleeping while I type...
